Meet Carl

Carl Downey, the President and founder of Complete Law Marketing (CLM), has dedicated his career to helping law firms maximize their marketing performance. With over 25 years of experience in the industry, Carl brings a wealth of expertise across the most effective advertising media for law firms. By partnering with CLM, law firms gain the advantage of a trusted advisor who can seamlessly integrate into their existing advertising campaigns and provide unbiased consulting on new initiatives.

Carl’s professional achievements speak for themselves. During his tenure at LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell, he was among the top 10 in the country for new business sales while also achieving the #1 customer retention and renewal rate. This outstanding performance underscores his dedication to delivering the best results for his clients. Carl is now serving as a Fractional CMO for over 10 firms located around the USA and has been actively fulfilling these services since 2017. Carl works with firms in major practice areas like Personal Injury, Auto Accidents, Family Law, Criminal Law, Estate Planning along with other very niche boutique practices.

Carl, a lifelong Maryland resident and family man, lives in Harford County. He studied Mass Communications at Western Maryland College (now McDaniel College) and earned his MBA from the University of Baltimore Merrick School of Business. When not developing and implementing creative marketing strategies for small businesses, Carl spends time with his wife and three children. His free time is filled with various activities, reflecting his commitment to his professional and personal life.
